Old Town Cafe
273 Swanston Street
I’ve been to Old Town Cafe once, and it was pretty good. It’s not anything amazing, but it also isn’t horrible. The pro’s are that it’s quick, and the BBQ pork on fried rice is amazing. My work colleague had the Special Fried Rice (pictured left) which took a little longer to come out (I’m assuming due to cooking the prawns proper) but was still pretty nice.
Service is pretty prompt and the menu is massive. There isn’t much going on in the window which makes it look pretty average when you’re walking past on the street, but don’t write it off too soon. It’s easy to get a table, it’s cheap, and the service is good – what more could you want?
