B3 Cafe Patisserie
Centre Place, Melbourne CBD
Centre Place is home to great cafes, restaurants, sushi bars, and shops right in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. You’ve probably walked through there admiring the cliche Melbourne street art and graffiti and potentially have never noticed B3 Cafe Patisserie, one of the best spots for a decent Baguette in all of Melbourne.
The crew at B3 keep their menu nice and simple which is great. They get pretty busy too, so it may seem like you’re rushed when having to make a purchase decision, but don’t be offended. You can grab 4 different types of food from B3 for lunch, all with a range of different flavors available. In my few, you can’t look past the $4 Baguettes. There were 8 flavors available when I popped in on my last visit: Roast Beef, Ham, Salami, Salmon, Turkey, Vegetarian, BBQ Chicken and Tandoori Chicken. All of these have very fresh ingredients and coupled with the fresh baguette roll, you’re on to a winner.
Your other options for lunch are a $5 pack of rice paper rolls, $4 soup, $2.50 pastries, or $3.50 “petite baguettes”. The petite baguettes are great because you can still enjoy a quality baguette even if you’re not mega hungry.
If you’re heading down to Centre Place with a crew, you can grab your baguette then find a table, a set of steps, or an open space and use the spare milk crates lying around to sit on and enjoy your food. Usually there is some form of live street band playing Jazz or something like Bob Dylan covers which all adds to the atmosphere.
If you feel like getting out of the office to a completely different environment where you can grab cheap, fresh, good food, B3 Cafe Patisserie is for you.
